They are extremely large in size, this is really the only drawback of this product. I have worn these for four straight hours playing games and forgot that they were on my head.
The headphones have a pretty good overall sound for the price. These headphones are perfect for the house and they include a very long extension that reaches all the way to my couch (15ft away).
The Sony MDR-XD300 headphones are exactly how they are described in the over view. The thing that impressed me the most was the suspension system that makes the headphones virtually weightless on your head.
They have two different modes (independent) for each ear, media and music. I really couldn't tell a difference between the two.
They have a deep sound but not overpowering to the ears. For the price, get them but if you are looking for a great set of monitors a would recommend the Grado SR60's for twice the price.
I purchased this Sony MDR-XD300 looking at the reviews, i was however disappointed with the performance because the sound quality was just not up to the mark. However this headphone even though is humungous, is really very very comfortable. I printed out the return UPS label after i bought the Audio Technica Quiet Point headset, but i did not return this product just because of the comfort. So if you are looking for a comfortable headphone. this is the one, but the bass is really low so dont have high expectations.
They weren't really comfortable but they never irritated me. First off, the sound won't blow you away. But for something thats this cheap it's not bad, although I was hoping for much more. They looked kinda cool, something spacey, I'm not sure it thats a pro or con however. If you're looking for something better but a little pricier go for the Grado SR60, they sound a whole lot better.
If you are looking for a rich Bass handiling head phone this is the one. This is Big, but its worth the sound. Theater like experience when u watch movies in u r lap top. The movie and music mode-just ognore it, it dosent make any difference. But the nicdymium magnet is awesome. If you want to go for any thing better than this go for boss. bUT TRUST ME AT THIS PRICE you wont get any thing better
These are one of the better sounding sets of headphones I have ever owned. I have never had a less durable set of headphones, and that is saying something given all the throwaway headphones I've had over the years. After relatively light use at my desk for a few months, I picked up the connector today with no real tension on the cable, and the connector just popped right off.
I would have rated these as 4-5 stars, if they had managed to stay in one piece. The design of the connector makes it impossible to repair, so my option now is to buy a replacement miniplug and try to re-connect the ridiculously tiny leads (safe to say they are thinner than a human hair) and then wrap the crazy cloth cable in ugly electrical tape. The pictures don't give you a good sense of how ridiculous they look, but the soft band that touches your head really is very comfortable, especially for those with a bald head (like me).
There was the tiniest bead of glue on the end. My one gripe with these has always been that the cable covering is cloth(.)., not plastic or rubber like nearly every other set of headphones out there. This does give the cable more flexibility than you would typically see with a rubber covering, but it also makes the cable feel less-than-protected.
I suspect a big culprit is the cloth cable, since it cannnot be bonded to the connector jacket like a rubber cable can. Sound is great, comfort is great, but Sony gets no points from me if I can't use the product.
